3CB have recently completed 4 pitch side canopy and training room units for a prestigious new sports facility under construction in the West of England. The design brief was originally for conventional steel buildings constructed on site. However we felt we could offer a lower cost and more attractive solution, both externally and internally, by designing and manufacturing pre-constructed and clad units which could be lifted onto site and subsequently timber clad in a fire resistant treated timber as specified by the architects. The project also incorporated a larger general storage building, again timber clad in a fire resistant tongue and groove board.

3CB were commissioned to obtain planning and undertake a total turnkey solution for this prestigious group. The group had to vacate its previous storage facility due to a housing project and establish a very large new store in a comparatively short period. The building itself at 27m x 47m x 11m was installed after demolition of an existing aged facility that was neither tall enough nor water tight. 3CB’s galvanised hot rolled steel solution was designed precisely to the clients specification to achieve a high level of racking density and thereby maximise use of the floor area. After completion 3CB installed a sophisticated automated lighting system and fire alarm. 3CB completed the project to the requested time frame and the client was delighted with our overall quality of performance and of the building also. Click the photos below to view the construction timeline ...

3CB recently undertook the design, supply and hazardous installation of a complex air entrainment building within a very large waste water treatment facility in the East Midlands. Time lines and working methodologies were tight. Working for a well-known and respected national main contractor on this project, and the successful completion of the work undertaken by 3CB, has led to further significant project work since - including new build and refurbishment work.

This compressor house, within a food manufacturing plant, naturally required a significant louvered area to allow incoming air for the compressors. The Client wished for a ‘built –up’ insulation system for the cladding. Comprising two separate sheets (inner white lining sheet and exterior light grey plasticol sheet in this instance) of materials with a spacing system between and the space filled with non-combustible Rockwool or similar. This is a less popular choice as the majority of your Clients call for a composite pre-manufactured insulated panel system. But 3CB can readily cater for either option. Unusually perhaps the Clients wished for the new oil free air compressor to be on display behind the aluminium glazed front to ensure such critical plant (vital in this prestigious high volume food manufacturing facility) weren’t hidden and forgotten and not maintained to the very highest of standards.

3CB recently completed a full turnkey project for a prestigeous International animal nutrition specialist. With internal racking this fully insulated steel building was constructed on the foundations and yard designed and installed by 3CB.

3CB have just completed a further triple carriageway vehicle capture building at Manchester Airport for Laing O’Rourke. 3CB has now designed and constructed many of these throughout the country in conjunction with various specialist ANPR companies. Here we see the building nearing completion with the roadways near finishing. We then internally line the building to minimise shadows from the flash system.

3CB were asked to provide a slender building with racking for a very confined space in a chemical company. Space was very limited between the road and fence so our solution was a building with effectively no clearance between the roller door and racking system. However, since access was typically by fork lift truck for these heavy items, it was considered an ideal solution for the Client’s needs.

3CB have erected a number of aircraft hangars and this interesting challenge was on the extreme west coast at Lowestoft to house helicopters servicing the wind farm off the coast. Its quay side location provided a number of challenges and required specific safety procedures whilst our teams erected the building so close to the water.

3CB were asked to design and install and two blocks of small starter units in addition to a larger showroom to form an industrial estate in Surrey. The contrasting choice of greens together with the orientation of the vertical and horizontal trapezoidal steel cladding profiles make the units more pleasing to looks at. Additionally the units were fitted with high specification insulated sectional overhead doors. We divided the interior of the blocks of three units with two block-work walls.
