3CB undertook a small project for Metronet Rail at one of their West London facilities. They required a small workshop with mezzanine floor (with turnover gate for safely lifting items up onto the floor) for general storage and maintenance of small plant at this busy West London depot.

Slender building for racking and heavy item storage

3CB were asked to provide a slender building with racking for a very confined space in a chemical company. Space was very limited between the road and fence so our solution was a building with effectively no clearance between the roller door and racking system. However, since access was typically by fork lift truck for these heavy items, it was considered an ideal solution for the Client’s needs.

One of 3CB’s multi project buyers requested us to design, supply and erect a large garage to store, infrequently used, high specification cars whose owners wanted a secure and well insulted environment to house their valuable investments. Since the vehicles are to be run in a regular basis we installed a number of large adjustable louvres to clear any exhaust fumes.

Here we see a novel solution for a village football club designed and installed by 3CB. As can be seen the roller door is of a somewhat lower height than the rear eaves of this mono pitch design of building. The reason being the club wanted to be able to store football goal posts in the higher, rear, portion of the building. This enabled the steel framed building to be at the lowest height possible to minimise its impact on the playing fields.

This small storage building was designed to segregate oil storage from other items of equipment that didn’t require a large roller door but rather one of our high security pair and single side hung steel door systems. We subdivided the building with blockwork which can also be done in a range of our fire rated insulated panels or in a low cost single skin steel sheet system.

3CB designed and installed this smaller storage building for a local cricket club. Unusually if has a 30° pitched roof to give the  club some roof storage space for various items of equipment. So it was a designed specifically suited to their needs and has proved a useful addition to the ground.

Naturally a number of our projects are not on ‘green field’ sites but are to be constructed in place of existing, often dilapidated or undersize, facilities. As part of our many service offerings and particularly on our turnkey projects where 3CB can act as Principle Contractor, we are asked to undertake demolition before we rebuild the site. We are able to undertake asbestos surveys and removal together with removal of waste from site and re-crushing existing concrete footings if the project scale justifies the specific plant necessary.

3CB designed and installed this very smart stable in Hampshire that required some customised options by way of internal tea and tack rooms together with sliding doors and canopy at each end. Once fitted out and neatly installed around any steel work the environment is ideal.

3CB were asked to design and install this very high specification boat house on the Hamble River in Hampshire. The requirement was for a steel building frame system that could lift a boat weighing as much as two tonnes internally using an independent lifting systems suspended from the buildings framework. In addition the client wished for this unusual roof detailed termed a ‘semi-hipped’ roof with large overhanging eaves.
