Three Counties Steel Buildings Ltd not only offer a range of Main Entrance Doors but also a comprehensive choice personal or personnel access doors, often known as PA Doors.
On practically every installation a PA door of some sort will be required unless the main entrance door is of a concertina type or light domestic grade roller door, which has external locking capability such that the door can be unlocked and slid or lifted. To do this there can be no chain or electrical operation of the door.
An electrically operated door that has remote operation can potentially fail to operate due to power failure or a fault in the years to come. In such a case a PA door would be necessary to gain access to rectify the fault or to override the electrical motor and gain entry.
We can't possible cover every option within these descriptions but we trust these brief explanations of the common and popular option will help. If however you have a specific requirement now covered here please do not hesitate to contact our trained sales staff who will be happy to assist. All of our steel doors are available in a semi durable primed format which is typically a mid grey and will weather well for up to a year or so, or in Plasticol or powder coated to a standard or non standard colour.
Most of our doors are available with vision panels in a range of sizes, single or double glazed and wired if required together with ventilation louvres that can come with fly screen filtration if specified. Once again please contact our Sales Office for further details.
PERSONAL ACCESS DOORS
STANDARD SPECIFICATION ACCESS DOORS
Inward or outward opening, left or right hand hung Three Counties Steel Buildings offers a range of finishes including timber and steel, single or twin skinned all with a host of locking options.
Our normal offering is a steel, twin skinned door which is typically preferred outward opening to maximise internal space flexibility. These doors come with multi point locking - that is to say that in addition to the normal lock at waist level has a number of shot bolts that engage with the frame on the vertical, top and bottom faces. In addition the door has anti jemmy studs which are tough static pins which extend on the hinge face that engages with the frame as the door is shut. This minimises the chances of forced entry by jemmying or hinge rupture at the hinge face.
We offer a huge range of sizes up to 3m x 3m split either 50 or 1m active leaf and 2m passive or anything in between. Standard doors are typically in the region of 830mm wide x 2015 high as clear opening. Disabled access doors are available in a range of sizes.
As with most things if a selection can be made from the standard, rather than special, range of dimensions there are significant cost advantages. Please discuss this with our Sales Team who will be happy to advise.
FIRE EXIT DOORS
On larger installations and/or where a number of personnel are located it is naturally a requirement to provide one or more Emergency Fire Exit Doors. Three Counties Steel Buildings can offer a selection of doors and crash bar options to suit every requirement. The doors will open outward, can be right or left hand hung and can have, in addition to an internal crash bar or pad, an external handle if required.
Often the decision on some of the detail will be related to security from externally forced entry. In such case we offer a plain external leaf with no handle minimising forced entry option. Owing to the requirement for swift building egress in the event of fire the opportunity for multi point locking does not exist and typically the lock mechanism is rather more conventional.
Often a requirement for the control of fire spread fire doors come in a range of capabilities in terms of fire control time up to 120 minutes. This is achieved through the internal leaf specification together with the installation of intumescent strip (an expanding self sealing strip) in the door frames.
Of course Fire Doors can also act as Fire Exit Doors and incorporate crash bar/pad egress options of required.
If you have any questions regarding our selection of PA Doors for your project please call our trained Sales Team on 01531 822 251 or email email@example.com.
A typical door and a half with ‘active leaf’ at c900mm wide and ‘passive’ leaf with locks top and bottom to enable opening when extra width is occasionally required.
Internal and external views of large double doors with a removable transom above to enable larger tall items to be brought into the building. The single fire exit door has a crash bar and no exterior handle. However a crash pad can be offered in place of the bar and an external handle can be provided especially in a smaller building where the fire door may be the only necessary mean of access and egress.
