Health and Safety - Three Counties Steel Buildings

To ensure we meet or indeed exceed the expectations of the market we offer our broad client base the option of our services as Principle, or Main, Contractor or as Sub-Contractor.

Every project is bespoke, the principle differences being: -

Principle, or Main, Contractor

Three Counties Steel Buildings can undertake the full management of the project from start to finish including liaising with The Health and Safety Executive and compiling the F10 Pre Notification where appropriate, producing the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and compiling all the Method Statements and Risk Assessments specific to this project. Our expertise extends, if required, through groundworks, building design and erection and fit out with electrics, mezzanine flooring and racking, together with landscaping and the installation of street furniture.

As part of our service we provide project plans detailing the various elements with start and finish dates together with offering payment terms to suit most undertakings including dated applications.

Sub-Contractor

We undertake a huge amount of work (including groundworks, building design, supply and erection), for main contractors who rely on Three Counties Steel Buildings to supply full Method Statements and Risk Assessments appropriate to the phases we are involved with. We integrate our project plans with the Main Contractor to ensure projects are completed on time.

Training and Certification

We are proud to be closely associated with the CITB for our specialist training requirements for both Senior Management and Site Operatives. All of our Site Operatives all fully certified in the safe use of mobile elevated platforms (IPAF – International Powered Access Federation), the safe erection of mobile scaffold towers and the safe working procedures for using abrasive wheels. All 110volt portable tools are fully PAT certified (Portable Appliance Tested).

Insurances

As a Company we carry £10,000,000 of Employers Liability Cover and £5,000,000 of Public and Product Liability. Of course we can arrange significantly increased job specific cover if required for work such as Air Side Airport work.

Additionally it is a requirement from ourselves that all of our Sub Contractors’ are in turn fully insured with both Public and Employers Liability Insurance Cover.

Security

Our Groundworks and Erection teams are fully security vetted and cleared for work within Educational, Penal and MOD establishments and we have an excellent track record in providing tightly controlled programmes of work in such demanding environments.

Communications and Project Management

On all of our projects we issue Construction Programmes to enable us to demonstrate to our clients the duration of the works and the specific activities associated with the project, these programmes also allow us to monitor progress on site. Throughout the project our Contract Management Teams visit site on a regular basis to ensure that the project is progressing satisfactorily and there are no client issues.

Customer Satisfaction Analysis and Sign Off

The project is not complete until our clients are entirely happy with our workmanship and this is confirmed at project sign off. Shortly afterwards we issue our Customer Satisfaction Survey when we provide Marks and Spencer Vouchers for every completed form to encourage as much feedback as possible in our pursuit of excellence. By knowing what our Customers think we can prioritise and address any issues that are seen as weaknesses. This forms a major part of our continuous improvement programme.
